A few recent news events, which I feel are both symbolic & synchronistic, although the last item is incredibly tragic....

On 21st November 2008, OZ singer and actress, Kylie Minogue made her Middle East debut as the headline act, at the lavish opening of the exclusive ATLANTIS HOTEL, Dubai

Quite an opening ceremony ?

Kylie minogue was also the on screen wife of Jason Donavon in the OZ soap opera, Neighbours.

Now, Jason Donovan also seems to have been all over British press this week, with various TV and Radio interviews. Promoting his forthcoming album, "Let It Be Me", to be released sometime in November 2008. Donovan also recently performed in Welwyn Garden City to a 500-strong crowd to a performance of some of his new material plus a few classics, noticeably including "Any Dream Will Do"




26th November 2008 Gareth GATES, The former Pop Idol runner-up is to take over the role of Joseph in the Andrew Lloyd Webber West End production of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat .





Then we probably have all heard about the despicable attacks On November 26, 2008 to The Taj Mahal Hotel....Situated near to The GATEWAY OF INDIA.
According to news reports, in a series of attacks to the southern part of Mumbai, the business district, the hotel in addition to the Oberoi.

My sincere condolences to the injured, the victims and their families, also to the people of India. May you find peace.

A wonderful weekend :-)

With grateful thanks to the very dedicated members of the classic punk tribute band, The Last Gang In Town, for such a fantastic gig, held in Leeds at the weekend. What a complete and refreshing change... Yeah!!!

It was a truly wonderful evening, with an opportunity to meet some really lovely people!
The evening started off with an amazing taxi driver, absolutely gifted in knowledge. He regarded his English language as just a 'mere' third language. Wowzers!, I regularly struggle to articulate 'English' as my normal everyday method of communication. Yet here was a person, highly articulate & talented in languages & mathematics, driving a taxi for a living..... Go figure....
The numerological value of his car number was also very interesting. But I choose, for now to leave it at that...

The evening just got even better! with many inspirational & meaningful blasts from the past!

For whatever reason, it feels appropriate to post this tiny little new story now. At a first glance,from the broadcast, it would perhaps appear to be something and nothing or any particular relevance or importance?

B of the Bang artist pays Manchester £1.7m in damages over disintegrating sculpture

"Mancunians nicknamed it Kerplunk after the well-known 1970s children’s game — an apt description for a £1.42 million sculpture of giant spikes that began to fall off soon after it was completed.

Now, the creator of B of the Bang has agreed with subcontractors to pay £1.7 million in damages to Manchester City Council over the failure of what was supposed to be one of the country’s most exciting pieces of public art.

Thomas Heatherwick’s 180-tonne starburst of metal spikes, which was designed to reflect the explosion of energy at the starter’s pistol, was built three years ago to dominate Manchester’s eastern gateway"

Colossus of Rhodes To Be Rebuilt

The long-lost Colossus of Rhodes is to be rebuilt as a sculpture of light.

The ancient monument, which straddled Rhodes town harbour and stood 34 metres high, was toppled by an earthquake in 226BC. But there are now plans to recreate the legendary statue with the help of German artist Gert Hof, the Guardian reports. "It will be a unique architectural creation," said the island's mayor, Hatzis Hatziefthimiou, said.'

Why is the Statue of Harriet Tubman Facing South?

In the following video, Derek Koen takes a look at the brand new Harriet Tubman Memorial located in Harlem, USA. But as one perceptive reader noticed and I quote:
"Why is she facing South on her journey instead of North as her journey was from the South to the North .
Does anyone know the answer? Was it mounted wrong?"

I'm not at all familiar with Harlem, the geometry, or even the placement of the statue. However, it strikes me as interesting that this has been placed within what sounds to be a pyramidal shaped intersection. If I am correct, also facing towards the sun?

More than 1,000 people claim to have seen the Loch Ness monster since a mysterious shape was first photographed 75 years ago.

References to a monster in Loch Ness date back to St Columba's biography in 565 AD.

But the myth only took its modern form when reports of a strange object and then a series of mysterious photographs appeared in press during the 1930s.

wild and free

Please meet one of my little friends that I have been seeing almost on a daily basis this year.
It has been such a pleasure to watch him mature, remaining so wild and free.

For a wild bunny, he is actually rather brave and allows me to get quite close to him. The following couple of snap shots were taken around July time this year.


Shortly after this snapshot was taken, I found myself in an unusual situation, as a fox suddenly approached, very quietly out of the bushes from the left, my little friend on the right and myself as the observer. We formed a triangle and all were frozen within the moment. I know that it is natural for foxes to hunt out their live food, but I simply couldn't bare the thought of my little friend getting hurt.... I dislike all forms of cruelty......

So I spoke to the fox, who quickly darted back into the bushes and the rabbit escaped by swimming across a stream to live and experience another day. Rabbits are such amazing swimmers! Something I would never have known, if I had not witnessed this for myself!

Beautiful bunny has actually matured quite a bit since these pictures were taken in July, but often pops out from the prickly gauze bushes to make a short and sweet white cotton tail appearance.

I think he's lovely and brightens up my day :-)

Scorpions - Wind Of Change

Somehow, this musical blast from the past intuitively feels so appropriate for today...
Yes I know that there is symbolism in the video. But just for today, I want to view life from a completely different prospective, I like the following song as it stirs something deep within me, especially the ending
"when you look at it from up here, you get an appreciation that the world is a beautiful place....and we need to take care of it"

Ross, Brand and The BBC

The recent Russell Brand and Jonathon Ross event seems to have dominated the British mainstream Media. To me, the story seemed to be full of symbolism. So I was very pleased to see that Diana Armstrong had already mentioned this on her world events page:

Amazingly, within a day of Diana writing about how the Brand/Ross story is a classic example of Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto being the subject matter brought to the surface. Further news comes to light...

Mystery of disappearing Stalin

"When Russell Brand said in his resignation video he hoped the move would mean Jonathan Ross and the BBC would suffer "less forensic wrath", the presence of Stalin in the backdrop may have not been the best idea.

In the video distributed by Brand's agents and shown on a number of news sites, the unmistakable figure of Stalin can be seen framed on the wall behind. In the version issued by the BBC, the image has been edited to cut all but the edge of Stalin's shoulder from view. A BBC spokeswoman denied that editing techniques beloved of the man himself had been used to remove the Communist dictator. "Russell gave that statement to the PA [Press Association] and that just fed through to us. They provided that feed to us in the way it appears," she said.

Alex Ringsell, a multimedia editor for PA, said there did appear to be two versions but that could be explained by technical differences between formats. "It could be caused by aspect ratio," he said. "We use 4x3 but the BBC may be using 16x9, which is why it probably appears a bit stretched."
