The Tragic Sudden death of 21 Polo Ponies
Hello Folks,
This week, I have been following various news articles about the tragic and mysterious sudden deaths of 21 Polo ponies in Wellington, Florida.
Now I may have spent most of my lifetime around horses, but really have to say that I have never heard of anything quite like this before.
If you are unaware of this news story, please see here for further details, The Telegraph also reported that:
"The team is owned by Victor Vargas, a Venezuelan businessman, close confidant of Hugo Chavez and one of the richest men in South America"
On April the 20th, The Polo Association stated that:
"The cause of death for these horses will not be determined until after the Florida State Department of Agriculture completes necropsies and toxicology testing on the affected animals. There has been much speculation and rumor concerning the cause of death however, according to Dr. Paul Wollenman, who was on the scene and led a valiant rescue effort with many local veterinarians and polo players to save the stricken horses: 'Based on initial, overwhelming clinical evidence this medical event was isolated to the Lechuza barn and horses and the initial evidence shows no infectious element.'
Today (22/4/09) CBS news stated that:
A Venezuelan team official reported on Wednesday that all 21 of its polo ponies set to compete at the U.S. Open Polo Championship were injected before the game with a vitamin supplement called Biodyl.
The team contends a tainted dose may have caused their deaths. Florida state officials have since opened an investigation to determine the cause of death”

When it comes to cameras and photography, I would describe myself as an aim, point, click and hope for the best kind of camera person. I'm certainly no computer expert either!
Now, going back to summer solstice (2008) I had some intuitive promptings to take my camera along to the stables with me. The following photo has never been professionally analysed or enlarged. However, I would be very interested to hear any comments, as there is actually quite a story attached to this.
(But that is all I choose to say, at this present moment)
The following photo is of my retired Welsh Boy Amigo, who I would describe as a very spiritually 'in tune' sensitive, kind of horse.
Notice how he is tilting his head to one side, so that he can see behind him :-)
By the way, he often likes to lift his front leg up and pose for the camera

Implant "chip-a-thon" as fundraiser against cancer (!?!)
Hi, all:
I thought I'd seen every lame thing the RFID industry could dish up to
support microchip implants, but this is over the top.
An upcoming "Chip-a-thon"(!?!) in Northern Pennsylvania will be
injecting pets with microchips -- to raise money for the American Cancer
Society!
http://www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090411/NEWS/904110358
These are the same microchips that cause cancer in 1% to 10% of
laboratory animals that receive them. Peer-reviewed journal articles
have shown to be related to cancerous tumors in at least two dogs.
This promotional puff piece contains no mention of cancer, the recent
death of Charlie Brown--the chihuahua that bled to death in January from
a chip implant, chip migration, chip failure, MRI incompatibility,
function creep, societal downsides, industry deception, religious
opposition -- nothing.
The Pocono Record should be ashamed at passing this off as balanced
journalism. We need to start calling journalists and editors on the
carpet whenever they print biased promotional pieces that support the
implant industry. They need to investigate and report the facts.
Microchip implants are dangerous, and should not be put into living
beings.
Could one of you (or many of you) write a letter to the editor about
this horrible article? At the very least we need some serious comments
in the "Respond to this article" section.
And would any of you in Northern Pennsylvania be interested in
protesting this event? It's next Sunday, April 19th, from 10:00 to 4:00
in Saylorsburg, PA. Maybe a few CASPIAN members could show up and
peacefully hand out flyers to educate unwary pet owners. Let me know if
you're interested in coordinating or attending the event and I'll spread
the word.
Meanwhile, research studies on the link between microchip implants and
cancer are available at www.antichips.com.

Chip-a-thon benefits pets, Relay for Life
http://www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090411/NEWS/904110358
Better than a boomerang, a pet microchip can bring a lost pet back to
you. On April 19, a pet chip-a-thon for companion animals will benefit
Relay for Life. The chip-a-thon is sponsored by Creature Comforts
Veterinary Service and Schering, the sponsors of Home Again pet
chipping, a quick process in which microchips with information about the
pet's owner are injected under the skin.
The event will be held in the parking lot of the Lake House Hotel, Route
115, Saylorsburg. It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $25,
which includes the first year's registration for the pet in the Home
Again Recovery System. If a pet is already chipped, it can be scanned
and registered into the system for the same price. All proceeds will be
donated to the American Cancer Society's West End Relay for Life.
The Home Again Recovery System must be renewed yearly.
If your pet strays, Home Again will put out lost pet fliers, contact
animal clinics and pay up to $3,000 in medical insurance in case the pet
is injured while lost.
Microchipping is a good way to identify a pet permanently and is
suitable identification for a lifetime license for dogs. Call Creature
Comforts at (570) 992-0400 for more information.
Relay For Life is a 24-hour fundraising event for the American Cancer
Society. The West End Relay will be June 6-7 at the Pleasant Valley High
School stadium, Brodheadsville. For information, go to

Microchipping Your Medication
'Microchips in pills could soon allow doctors to find out whether a patient has taken their medication. The digestible sensors, just 1mm wide, would mean GPs and surgeons could monitor patients outside the hospital or surgery.
Developers say the technology could be particularly useful for psychiatric or elderly patients who rely on a complicated regime of drugs - and are at risk if they miss a dose or take it at the wrong time. It could also be used for the chronically ill, such as people with heart disease, to establish whether costly drugs are working or whether they are causing potentially dangerous side effects.'

The Great Intention April 11th 2009
THE GREAT INTENTION
It is my wish to conduct an experiment and a peaceful intention for the planet.
Starting on Saturday April 11, I would like to organize as many people as possible to simultaneously spend one hour on peace and love. What people need to do in order to participate is to spend that time feeling the peace in the world. This is very different to doing something like praying "for" peace or praying externally. What is needed is to place yourself in the emotional state where the prayer has already been answered and the peace we are striving for has already been achieved. I am hoping to arrange the details with Princeton University who will be able to monitor the results via a system they already have in place.
The aim is to feel the peace, love and prosperity in the world; the love and unity between all of mankind
The first stage of the experiment will commence on Saturday April 11 at 10 pm Greenwich Mean Time (this is 8am Sunday April 12, Eastern Standard Time for those of you in Australia) and will continue at the same time each week thereafter. Please check here to work out the correct time for your particular area http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ you will find the current Greenwich Mean Time (or UTC) shown at the bottom of the page in order to be able to coordinate the time difference for your own particular area to ensure you are participating at the correct time.
This experiment will be ongoing so it doesn't matter if you have seen this message late, you are still able to participate at any time.
Please spread this information to all you can in order to gain as many participants as possible for these events.
We can make a difference
Love & Light
Max

VICTORY FOR SAN MARCOS PET OWNERS
April 6, 2009
Victory for Pet Owners! San Marcos, TX, Overturns Microchip Mandate
Local animal owners no longer required to chip their pets
The City Council of San Marcos, Texas, unanimously voted last week to
rescind a mandatory pet microchipping ordinance that would have required
all pets within city limits to receive an injected implant. The 7 to 0
vote was made at the City Council meeting on March 31, 2009. All members
were present and voted, including Mayor Susan Clifford-Narvaiz,
according to San Marcos Communications Director Melissa Millecam.
The chipping ordinance was originally adopted last December and was
slated to take effect on April 1st. The measure had sparked months of
heated opposition and repeated demonstrations by local residents,
including a protest and candlelight vigil at the March 3rd City Council
meeting that drew a crowd of over 300 people.
The March 3rd protest took place during the last City Council meeting,
and was heavily covered by the local television and print media. The
protest, combined with the impassioned testimony of numerous local
residents, prompted the City Council to agree to reconsider the measure
at its March 31st meeting, at which point the measure was overturned.
Revisions to the ordinance passed "on emergency," and removed the
microchipping requirement effective immediately. The City
Council also voted to lift the prohibition against the sale or adoption
of animals in parking lots and to allow the keeping of hens in
residential areas.
"We applaud the San Marcos City Council for this decision," said local
activist Lisa Marie Coppoletta, who helped organize the March 3rd rally.
"Chipping should be a voluntary decision between pet owners and their
veterinarians. It should never be mandated by the government."
Opponents of mandatory chipping cite research linking the implants with
cancer in dogs, as well as peer-reviewed studies showing that 1% to 10%
of laboratory animals injected with implantable microchips develop
cancer around the implants. They say this information is well known to
Home Again parent company Schering Plough, but that the company has
withheld the information from pet owners and the veterinary community.
Debate over the chipping ordinance heated up in February when a
longhaired chihuahua named Charlie Brown bled to death just hours after
receiving a microchip implant mandated by Los Angeles County.
"As people become more aware of the dangers of microchip implants, we
expect other communities to follow suit," said Dr. Katherine Albrecht, a
nationally-known RFID microchip expert and liberty activist who flew in
from New Hampshire to speak at the March 3rd event and share her
research with the City Council. "We are pleased that San Marcos
officials responded appropriately to the groundswell of opposition to
this technology."
Albrecht, who has extensively researched the microchip-cancer
connection, expressed concern that government officials have been
issuing microchip mandates without reviewing all of the facts. In
addition, she points out that many members of the public view microchip
mandates as an inappropriate incursion on pet owners' rights.
"Such laws set a bad precedent with a controversial and unpopular
technology," Albrecht said. "The San Marcos episode serves as a reminder
to government officials everywhere that the people--and their pets--will
not tolerate chipping. "We'll be taking this message, and this movement,
nationwide," she added.
