"THE Royal Navy is on standby to deploy the world’s most advanced destroyer to protect the 2012 Olympics from a 9/11-style attack.

Security chiefs are drawing up plans to moor one of the navy’s new Daring class of Type 45 destroyers in the Thames estuary. The ship, which boasts a sophisticated antiair missile system, would be ready to shoot down hijacked aircraft or small passenger jets flown towards London or the Olympic site by terrorists"

Stonehenge tunnel plan finally laid to rest ?

News from the New Civil Engineer:

"Plans to build a £540M tunnel beneath the stones of Stonehenge have finally been killed off in place of a cheaper scheme which involves shutting the junction between the A344 and A303.

The Highways Agency has this week confirmed that it has scrapped the tunnel plans in place of £159M of modest junction improvements on the single carriageway A303"

How grim

This stone has just been placed in the grounds of Silcoates School, Wakefield, West Yorkshire and to many, it resembles a grave stone. Every child in the school must pass it at least twice a day, and for the seniors, well they must pass it many more times between lessons.
How grim!
